What is Red Seal Hub?
Red Seal Hub is a study and career app built for skilled trades workers preparing for Red Seal certification. It works whether you are an apprentice moving through your first to fourth year, or an experienced worker challenging the exam on your logged hours.
At the center is Red, your AI study partner. Red creates practice questions matched to your trade and year, tracks the topics you find hard, and shows you how ready you are to write your exam. You also get a trade profile that captures your real work history, hours, and safety tickets, plus practice quizzes and full mock exams.
- Study help from Red, your AI study partner that remembers your progress
- Practice quizzes and full-length mock exams in the real Red Seal format
- A dashboard that shows your weak topics, study streak, and exam readiness
- A trade profile you can share with employers, keep public, or keep private
Red Seal Hub is free to start, with no credit card required, and works right in your phone browser so you can study between jobs or on a break.
Create an account or sign in
You only need an email to get started. Setting up an account takes a couple of minutes.
- Go to redsealhub.com and select Get Started, or open the Sign Up page directly.
- Enter your email and create a password, or sign up with a connected account if offered.
- Confirm your email if you are asked to verify it.
- Already have an account? Choose Sign In instead and enter your details.
Use an email you check often. That is where account and study reminders are sent.
Finish onboarding: pick your account type, trade, and year
After you sign up, Red Seal Hub walks you through a short setup so your studying is matched to you from day one.
- Choose your account type so the app knows whether you are here to study, hire, or help people immigrate. Most trades workers choose the worker or student option.
- Pick your pathway: Apprentice Program if you are in a registered apprenticeship, or Challenge Exam if you have validated hours and want to challenge the full exam.
- If you are an apprentice, select your year, from Year 1 through Year 4, so your practice questions match the blocks you are working on.
- Confirm your selections. You land on a welcome screen that shows your pathway and trade, then continue to your dashboard.
Your year level sets what practice content you see, not what you are allowed to study. You can explore any material at any time. Your logged hours are what count toward apprenticeship or your Red Seal challenge.
Your first 3 things to do
Once you reach your dashboard, here is the fastest way to get value out of Red Seal Hub.
- Build your profile. Open Profile from your dashboard to add your trade, credential status, work history, and hours. The more you add, the more useful your living resume becomes.
- Take a quiz to see where you stand. Use the Start Studying button on your dashboard to begin a practice quiz. Your results feed your dashboard so it can highlight your weak topics and exam readiness.
- Chat with Red, your study partner. Ask Red anything about your trade, theory, or codes. Red remembers your progress and points you toward the areas you need to drill.
Your dashboard updates as you go. Check the Weak Topics and Exam Readiness cards after each quiz to decide what to practice next.
Study on your phone
Red Seal Hub is built to work on mobile, so you can study anywhere without needing a laptop.
- Open redsealhub.com in your phone browser and sign in the same way you do on a computer.
- The dashboard, quizzes, profile, and chat all adjust to a smaller screen.
- You can add the app to your home screen from your settings for quicker access.
Coming soon: your personalized learning pathComing soon
Right now you choose what to study and your dashboard points out your weak topics. We are building a guided learning path that goes one step further and lays out your whole journey to the exam, so you never have to guess what to work on next.
When you finish onboarding, Red Seal Hub will build a plan around your pathway, your trade, and your target exam date. Apprentices get a year-by-year plan that follows the blocks in order. Experienced workers challenging the exam get a shorter plan that skips what they already know and focuses on their gaps. Internationally trained workers get a plan built around the Canadian requirements they still need to cover.
- A clear "study this next" recommendation every time you open the app
- Plans that respect the order of your trade, so you build a foundation before moving on
- A faster plan for challenge and international pathways that focuses only on your gaps
- Reminders to revisit topics you have not touched in a while so they stay fresh
You will still be free to study anything at any time. The learning path is there to guide you, not to lock you in.
Coming soon: know when you are ready for the examComing soon
We are adding a readiness view that brings your whole picture together: how much of your trade you have covered, how strong you are in each area, and whether you are on pace for your exam date.
Instead of wondering if you have done enough, you will see a clear readiness score and a short list of what is left to cover. If you fall behind your target date, Red Seal Hub will let you know and suggest how to catch up.
- A readiness score that tells you how close you are to passing
- A coverage check that flags any part of your trade you have not studied yet
- Pacing that warns you early if you are falling behind your exam date
- Milestones to celebrate as you finish each block and each year
